Is Texting Killing Writing?

I really liked revisiting this video because, I think it is so true, that people text, how they talk. Testing is also, perpetuating the creating of new words, acronyms, and slang, for example, LOL, JK, u, instead of you.

I like that McWorter, discusses the difference in casual speech and word packets, and the reflective elements of speech vs. formal, “talk like writing.” So, is texting “killing writing?” My, opinion, is no, texting is not killing language, but creating new element, and conventions of writing, which shows the evolution of language, in this “fingered speech.”
